BIC-DFW Nikkah Ceremony Guidelines 

To proceed with your Nikkah request at BIC-DFW, please complete the form linked below. Please note that we only perform Nikkahs in conjunction with a valid civil marriage license. 

Once your request is submitted for a specific date, you will be asked to pay a deposit. Your requested date will be reserved only after the deposit is received. 

All required documents and confirmations must be submitted no later than two weeks prior to the scheduled date. If we do not receive all required items by this deadline, BIC-DFW reserves the right to release the date to another requestor. 

Please note: Availability depends on the officiant’s schedule. Fridays are not available for Nikkah ceremonies, so please plan accordingly.

● Members: $0 

● Non-Members: $360

Requirements 

● Nikkahs at BIC-DFW are only performed for local community members residing in Wylie, Sachse, Murphy, Plano, Richardson, Garland, or nearby areas. 

● A civil marriage license is required. 

● A deposit must be submitted (additional donations are appreciated but optional). 

● Payments can be made at: DONATE 

Documents Required (Due Two Weeks Prior to Ceremony) 

● Copy of the civil marriage license 

● Copy of both parties’ driver’s licenses 

● Completed Nikkah Contract (form provided by BIC-DFW) 

Reservations & Cancellations 

● All reservation requests must be submitted at least two weeks before the desired date. 

● Reservations are taken on a first-come, first-served basis and are subject to availability. 

● Cancellation requests must be emailed to dzematbic@gmail.com no later than one week before the ceremony. 

Officiant Assignment 

● The officiant for your ceremony will be confirmed two weeks prior to your event. 

● If a BIC-DFW officiant is unavailable, we will assign an approved external officiant from a local DFW-area masjid. 

● External officiants will be assigned by BIC-DFW. Requests for specific external officiants cannot be accommodated. 

● In such cases, an additional $250 honorarium will be required (on top of the Nikkah deposit). This amount is payable to BIC-DFW and will be forwarded to the officiant.
